Formula for Volume

You have worked very hard in the past few days to discover the formula for finding volume. Congratulations!  The video below shows how to use the formula to calculate volume.  Use it to practice.

Volume

Cube Nets

In class, we have been finding the volume of  three-dimensional objects.  But what makes a three-dimensional figure?  After working with your partner to determine which of the nets will form a cube, click on the link below to see if you were correct.  Explore and have fun!

Volume

In previous grades, you learned how to measure the area and perimeter of two-dimensional figures.  Volume is the measurement of the amount of space a three-dimensional object occupies.  Watch the following video as an introduction to volume.  At this time, we will not learn about the traditional algorithm for calculating volume, but we will discover the volume of shapes.
